It has to do something well.
Every object starts with a job. Decoration alone is not enough reason to add another thing to the room, desk, or pocket.
OUR STANDARD
Alder & Meridian is not built around endless assortment. The standard is simple: usefulness first, proportion second, material integrity throughout.
Every object starts with a job. Decoration alone is not enough reason to add another thing to the room, desk, or pocket.
Brass, stone, glass, wood, steel, and other materials are chosen when their weight, texture, finish, and wear add to the object rather than disguise it.
Unnecessary branding, tactical styling, novelty mechanisms, and visual noise are edited out when they do not improve the object.
Desk objects should anchor a surface without swallowing it. Carry goods should feel substantial without becoming burdensome.
Products are selected as part of one visual and material language rather than as unrelated marketplace finds.
A good object should survive trend cycles. Newness matters only when it improves function, material, construction, or point of view.
